A $100.00 CDN Deposit will hold a lovely kitty for you- which is non-refundable in the event you choose to cancel your baby for whatever reason - we may offer you a straight ear as there are no folded ears available (if that is what you had "ordered" - straight eared kittens have the same huge round eyes plus all the other attributes of a folded eared kitten except for the folded ears) - we will hold your deposit for the next "bunch" only once - if there is no kitty in the second "bunch" you are offered that you want, your deposit is lost - and we try to make the best match possible based on your lifestyle and desires and the kitten's personality.  It is impossible to "order" a specific kitten such as:  "I only want a blue girl with long hair and folded ears".  If one happens to be born (in some breedings, for example, blue would not be a possibility) and we do not keep him or her, and depending on where you are on the waiting list, you would be offered that particular kitten.
We are not responsible for how the genes mix!

A kitten is a precious life no matter what physical attributes he or she may have -- folded ear kittens are in high demand, but folks, we aren't in the "manufacturing business" - we cannot influence the hand of God (if you are religious) or the gene combination (for those who are scientific persons).  All we can do is breed responsibly and ethically - which is one reason we don't breed without deposits.

We try our best with match-making, but like most "parents", sometimes our babies make us wear eggs on our faces in that a somewhat shy kitten is quite out-going as an adult and vice versa.

Gender, colour, ear type and hair length is by far less important than the best "match" as our baby is to be your companion for the next 15 or so years, we hardly think that hair colour etc. makes a difference -- HOWEVER, we DO try to satisfy your preferences if at all possible.  We do not breed continuously - often, but not always, we have kittens in the spring-ish -- and sometimes around Christmas -- BUT, life is variable and sometimes we only have kittens once a year or 18 months  (so if there were no kittens you wanted, in terms of your deposit, in the first offered bunch, then you would have to wait for the next bunch which could be a year or so - but you would have moved up on the waiting list - and Splendid ALWAYS has the right of first choice, whether we exercise that option or not)

We DO NOT keep a "notification list".  It is a waste of our time as virtually everyone we have called in the past 35 years* in response to, "Oh, let me know when you have kittens!  I want one so badly!" doesn't even remember who we are, have had a change of heart or plans, has already gotten a kitten but didn't have the courtesy to let us know or they are unreachable due to disconnected phone or email address and so on.  In the meantime, we have a beautiful litter of several kittens who do not have homes.  And of course, once they are more than 14 or 16 weeks old, the general public doesn't want them anymore because they "aren't kittens" ... so no, we will not notify you.  If you are interested in our kittens you may apply for one and send a deposit - THEN you will be on our waiting list and notified of a new litter.

Most Kittens are available to loving forever companion homes, HOWEVER, we reserve the right to select
our show & breeding boys and girls up to about
16 weeks of age.  We often picture the entire litter
in all honesty and openness to show the overall quality
of our precious babies.
Please note that all our kittens are often spayed or neutered prior to leaving us - our Vet can offer a less expensive rate than many others.
Please note:  Kitties are living, breathing little beings, not pieces of furniture.  We do our best in terms of matching the best kitty to the best home, but if anything untoward occurs, we will gladly work with you to rectify any concerns.  This applies to kitties that have been paid for in full only. We enjoy an excellent reputation and have a 99.9% success rate!
Because there is only a 50% genetic chance of any given kitten "folding" we cannot guarantee that any specific mating will produce a folded eared kitten.  Most often, we can offer a folded kitten out of one of our next litters, keeping in mind that we only have a few kittens a year.  Likewise, we cannot guarantee that a promising kitten at 14 weeks of age is a show kitten -- ears may come up or he or she may not have the temperament to be a show kitty, for example.
 * prices subect to change without notice

OR, if your contract states that you are responsible for altering by a certain date, you will be offered a rebate.
(*NOTE that you may lose the rebate if you do not alter your kitty within the stated time constraints! You also may be charged up to $1,500.00 in addition - so honour your contract!!!) Kittens also will have been inoculated twice and dewormed.  Their registration application and pedigree will often accompany them if they have been pre-altered before leaving us, but it is not uncommon to wait 6 months or so to receive them.
*Our straight ear kittens are $400.00, the folded ears are $800.00.  We do offer a discount on two kittens purchased at the same time:
2 Straight ears: $50.00
1 Straight and 1 Fold ears: $100.00
2 Folded ears: $150.00

Retirees:Expect to pay anywhere from $100.00 to $800.00 or more for a retiree.  The price depends on if the kitty has been shown, what awards he or she has earned, the age of the kitty, whether or not he or she is straight or folded eared or altered, any existing medical conditions and so on.
An Example might be:  We would ask a token fee of $100.00 for a 6 or 8 year old straight eared girl, already spayed and health up to date. We might ask $600 - $1,000.00 for a proven show kitty with awards under two or three years old -- already altered and health up to date, of course.  There is a very broad set of criteria for pricing, and of course it is impossible to put a value on  our emotional attachment to each kitty.
